HRCH Niki Snowbird, SH, QAA

Niki is a well-muscled 65 pound yellow female that defines the word “desire” when retrieving.  She is the ultimate tom-boy when outside.  When in the field, there is rarely a bird she doesn’t find.  She is also an extremely honest and willing worker.  At the qualifying in Montgomery, Fall 2008, on an extremely cold day, she was the only dog to get in the water and swim to the bird on the long cheating mark, awing the spectators and becoming QAA.  Niki easily finished her HRCH, and as one judge said, “it takes you longer to walk to line than it does for her to pick up those birds.”  Her Senior Hunter title was also accomplished with ease.  At home, I call Niki “everybody’s girlfriend.”  Her subtlety controls the 5 male labs in the household, as well as being a loving housedog.  Niki has been known to charm people who are severely frightened of dogs, winding up with her head on their laps, looking at them with her appealing brown eyes.   Niki’s plans for the future are to run agility trials, finish her Master Hunter title, and run AA stakes.  Niki is everything a lab should be, friendly, warm and a willing worker who desires to please.
